About

Dov Hammer – Blues singer and harmonica player
Dov Hammer is one of the most veteran and prolific blues artists in the country. He immigrated to Israel from Chicago, USA, and began his career in the late 1980s as a harmonica player in the band of Canadian blues artist, Tad Cooper. Over the years, he led the bands The Daily Blues, CG & The Hammer, and The Blues Rebels. With these ensembles (and also as a solo artist), he recorded 11 albums of original music, and also performed throughout Israel, Europe, and the USA, in clubs, halls, and international festivals – among them the Rochester Jazz Festival, New York, the "Blues Nights" festival in Lithuania, and more.
He also performed with some of the world's best blues artists – including Joe Louis Walker, Lucky Peterson, Jimmy Johnson, and many others – and was even the opening act for the legendary Johnny Winter.
In the winter of 2025, the album "Exile – the Chicago Blues sessions" will be released, recorded in Chicago with the city's finest blues musicians, paying tribute to Dov Hammer's musical roots, the "Classic Chicago Blues" of Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, and Little Walter.
In Israel, he also recorded and performed with artists such as Arkadi Duchin, Yali Sobol, Miki Gavrielov, and many others, and also played on the soundtrack of the film "Ballad of the Weeping Spring."
In the performance, he will be accompanied by guitarist Yossi Tanuri (from the band "Libi and the Flashback") on guitar and slide guitar.
